David Tayler received his B.A. in music, music performance, and interdisciplinary studies from Hunter College (summa cum laude), and his M.A. and Ph.D. in musicology from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, the Arcadian Academy, and the FestspielOrchester Göttingen. and Parnassus Avenue. David has appeared with American Bach Soloists, Tafelmusik, the San Francisco Opera & Symphony, the Oregon Bach Festival, Concerto Köln, Andreas Scholl and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, among others, and has recorded many discs for magnatune, BIS, harmonia mundi, Koch International, ORF, Sony, Reference, Arabesque, BMG, RCA, Musica Omnia and Teldec. As codirector of the Early Music Ensemble Voices of Music, his most recent recordings include Music of Scotland, An Evening with Bach, Sonatas and Preludes of Bach & Telemann, and Concerto Barocco.  David develops technology for the high-definition video broadcasts of Voices of Music and has made more than three hundred music videos of medieval, baroque and renaissance music. Each day, 30,000 people watch content on the Voices of Music channel, more than 8 million per year.
