David Tayler received his B.A. in music, music performance, and interdisciplinary studies from Hunter College (summa cum laude), and his M.A. and Ph.D. in musicology from the University of California at Berkeley. With his wife Hanneke, David cofounded the award winning ensemble Voices of Music, which currently has more than 250,000 subscribers and 90 million viewers on YouTube--one of the largest Classical music channels in the world.

A chamber music player at heart, David is continually inspired by his brilliant and talented colleagues, and is dedicated to promoting chamber music, creating opportunities for musicians, and revitalizing after school music programs.

He is a member of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, the Arcadian Academy, and the FestspielOrchester Göttingen. David has appeared with American Bach Soloists, Tafelmusik, the San Francisco Opera & Symphony, the Oregon Bach Festival, Concerto Köln, Andreas Scholl and the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, among others, and has recorded many discs for magnatune, BIS, harmonia mundi, Koch International, ORF, Sony, Reference, Arabesque, BMG, RCA, Musica Omnia and Teldec. As codirector of the Early Music Ensemble Voices of Music, his most recent recordings include Music of Scotland, An Evening with Bach, Sonatas and Preludes of Bach & Telemann, and Concerto Barocco.  David develops technology for the high-definition video broadcasts of Voices of Music and has made more than four hundred music videos of medieval, baroque and renaissance music.
